In a tribute to the legendary Bugatti Type 35, Bugatti and The Little Car Company have introduced the Bugatti Baby II Type 35 Centenary Edition. This exclusive series commemorates the 100th anniversary of the Type 35’s debut at the 1924 Grand Prix de Lyon and is limited to just six highly exclusive examples.

Each model is uniquely and intricately designed to mirror the original Bugatti Type 35 racecars that left an indelible mark on the automotive and motorsports world a century ago. Hand-built in Oxfordshire, UK, these scaled masterpieces boast aluminum bodies, brass identification plates and Bleu de Lyon paint schemes, a nod to the original racecars.

Utilizing the top-tier Pur Sang Bugatti Baby II architecture, each Baby II Type 35 Centenary Edition features a unique chassis number matching the original cars, complete with hand-painted entry numbers in white. The models are also marked “1 of 1,” highlighting their exclusive nature.

The meticulous craftsmanship extends to custom louvers and lockwire additions, emulating the original Type 35’s design. This attention to detail underscores Bugatti’s legacy of excellence on the racetrack.

Notably, the Bugatti Type 35 was driven by racers like Leonico Garnier (#21), Jean Chassagne (#7), Pierre de Vizcaya (#18), Meo Costantini (#22) and Ernest Friderich (#13) — with an additional prototype kept by Ettore Bugatti, revolutionized racing with over 2,500 victories and podium finishes in a decade, making it the most successful racing car in history.

The Bugatti Baby II, a 75% scale, electrified version of the original Type 35, has become a modern design icon since its inception. The Baby II Type 35 Centenary Edition, developed using a 3D scan of the 1924 Grand Prix car, features an advanced electric motor, blending modern tech with classic design.

At the time of publishing, all six examples of the Bugatti Baby II Type 35 Centenary Edition have been sold to private collectors around the world according to the automaker.
