Instagram’s New Beta Feature Lets Users Put Their ‘Spin’ on a Reel
Letting followers add their own text and audio to content.

Instagram is working on a new feature adding a new twist to Reels, TechCrunch reported. The feature is apparently called Spins and was first found by reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi.
Paluzzi, known for unveiling Instagram features before they launch, shared screenshots of the alleged beta version of Spins on X
“Allow people to swap out text or audio in your Reel. For every spin added, you will reach their audience,” the text reads alongside a toggle button to turn Spins on.

Instagram confirmed to TechCrunch that the feature is an internal prototype and as of right now, there aren’t any plans to launch it.
It seems that if a user shared content to Reels, their followers would essentially be able to meme the content by adding their own perspective on it. TikTok is known for its viral trends, where users frequently repurpose the same footage and videos, so it seems that Instagram may be trying to ideate its own approach for the same effect.
