The Alien franchise continues with the upcoming Alien: Romulus film. In preparation for the new movie, 20th Century Studios has released a new teaser trailer.

With director Fede Alvarez and producer Ridley Scott, the forthcoming sci-fi/horror-thriller digs into the franchise’s roots, which kicked off in 1979 with Ridley Scott’s, Alien. Over the years, the franchise has seen a caliber of films ranging from the initial sequence of films to newer additions like Prometheus and Alien: Covenant.

The new film follows a group of young space explorers who come in contact with Alien lifeforms while scavenging a neglected space station. Although the teaser trailer just offers a glimpse, it’s clear that the story entails a great detail of peril and battle between the curious explorers and the predatory aliens. The film’s cast sees Caillee Spaeny, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Spike Fearn, Isabela Merced, Aileen Wu and more. Alongside Ridley Scott and Fede Alvarez, the movie’s producers also include Michael Pruss, Walter Will, Elizabeth Cantillon, Brent O’Connor and Tom Moran.

Check out the new teaser trailer in the gallery above. Stay tuned for more information about the new Alien: Romulus, which is set to release in theaters on August 16.
