Christofle Heads to the Clay Courts for Terracotta-Toned Collection
Created in collaboration with the French Open.

French luxury house Christofle has unveiled a special edition of its iconic “Mood” dining collection, this time in collaboration with major tennis tournament Roland-Garros (aka The French Open).
The egg-shaped case of the Mood set makes it instantly recognisable. Inside, a silver-plated cutlery setting for six people is stored vertically – rendering it functional while providing a centerpiece of sorts for the tablescape.
Mood was introduced by the brand in 2015, and in under 10 years has gone on to become one of its bestselling pieces. In the years since its launch, Christofle has teamed up with various culturally significant collaborators to put their own spin on the egg-shaped container. In 2019, they tapped Pharrell Williams and French chef Jean Imbert — the lead behind Williams’ Miami restaurant, Swan — resulting in an yellow, lacquered exterior.
Now, Christofle joins forces with French tennis tournament Roland-Garros, creating a special-edition Mood set alongside a campaign that marries together the worlds of gastronomy and sport.
For the collection itself, the collaboration takes inspiration from the clay seen on the courts. This terracotta tone is applied across the external surface of the egg-shaped container, and is available in three sizes: the standard Mood, and the Party and Coffee versions.
The courtside campaign features Laszlo Badet and Alice Moireau – both up and coming figures of the French food scene. In the images, the pair are depicted as competing in a slightly different competition: “The Grand Slam of Good Manners”.
“In pleated skirts and immaculate visors, the two young women compete in front of a Christofle audience,” the brand says. “With that touch of playfulness that Christofle holds dear, they are faced with a series of challenges: How best to enjoy a soup? How to serve fruits? What is the most elegant way to nibble on a salad and the most beautiful way to sip your coffee?”
The limited-edition Roland-Garros Mood collection will be available from April 2024 at Roland-Garros, in the Grande boutique, as well as in a selection of Christofle boutiques around the world. Head to Christofle for more information.
