Gunna Returns and Reflects on "Bittersweet"
His first solo release since ‘a Gift & a Curse.’
Gunna is back. After taking to Instagram to share some studio footage earlier this week, the rapper dropped off a reflective new cut aptly named “Bittersweet,” in which he talks through the trials and tribulations of the recent year.
In the Spike Jordan-directed visuals, Gunna delivers the introspective lyrics from a massive snow-capped mansion in the middle of the mountains. Rocking Rick Owens, Pucci, lots of fur and a solid range of puffers, the rapper is alone in the snow, surrounded solely by his security guards and some snowmobiles. Check it out in the gallery above.
“‘Bout my name, let it bang, goin’ out with my pistol / Got me a taste of this fame, it was sweet, now it’s bitter / Maybach came with pillows, I can’t talk in no pillows (Uh) / Armed and dangerous, but that don’t make me no killer / Heard you caught a hit, but that don’t make you no killer,” he slides on the first verse.
“Bittersweet” marks Gunna’s first solo release since dropping his a Gift & a Curse album in June of 2023.
