le PÈRE To Open Los Angeles Flagship Store
On Melrose Avenue in the city’s West Hollywood neighborhood.
le PÈRE, the downtown New York menswear label known for its artist-inspired fashion collections and rambunctious Orchard Street musical events, is opening up a new shop in Los Angeles, according to WWD. The brand, which is approximately two years old, will set up shop in the city’s West Hollywood neighborhood at 8507 Melrose Avenue.
Abhi Janamanchi, brand director at le PÈRE, explained the label’s decision to establish a West Coast outpost: “With the continued success of all the artist events that we’ve been doing here in New York, tons of folks have been like, ‘You obviously have a pretty extensive artist network and there [are] so many musicians and whatnot based in Los Angeles — are you guys ever going to do anything out there?’”
“We just felt like it was the right time for us to have a hub out West given so much of our community and network being out there, and also just the fact that L.A. is such a big cultural center point, especially within the music scene,” he added.
The LA store, which was built by Bond Architecture (the same firm that did le PÈRE’s New York shop), will operate with a similar retail-meets-event-space mentality to the East Coast flagship. The inside of the store takes inspiration from classic SoCal tropes, like skateparks and theaters, with a largely wooden facade and bleacher seats.
le PÈRE’s Los Angeles store will officially open on Tuesday, December 3.
