IWC Readies the Ingenieur Automatic 40 With a Blue Dial
Featuring the iconic iconic “grid” pattern.
In broadening the Ingeniuer collection, IWC has unveiled a new automatic addition sporting a blue dial. The Maison first refreshed the model during Watches & Wonders Geneva last year, paying a faithful homage to the original ref. 1832 designed by Gérald Genta.
Housed in a 40mm stainless steel build, the Ingenieur Automatic 40 is paired with an integrated metal bracelet. Just like its black-dial counterpart, the timepiece spotlights its iconic “grid-like” patterned dial but is rendered in a sleek, aqua PVD treatment.
The watch face keeps additional embellishments rather subdued, topped with rhodium-plated baton hands and applied metal indices, all filled with Super-LumiNova® to ensure visibility in the dark.
The timepiece features a 5-day power reserve, charged by IWC’s in-house 32111 self-winding movement. The caliber is geared with a double pawl winding system, which converts wrist movements into energy. Additionally, a soft-iron inner case protects the movement from magnetic fields, maintaining the watch’s precise timekeeping in line with the technical heritage of the Ingenieur series.
The Ingenieur Automatic 40 with a blue dial is priced at $11,700 USD and is currently available for inquiry via IWC.
