IWC has expanded its Ingenieur line with a new Ingenieur Automatic 35 in Pool Blue, a compact 35mm stainless steel model distinguished by its vibrant new dial color.
Inspired by Gérald Genta’s 1976 Ingenieur SL design, the watch retains the integrated bracelet and bold bezel secured by five functional screws, while the fresh mint-green-esque “Pool” shade brings a modern, summery character to the collection. The dial carries the Ingenieur’s signature grid pattern, with rhodium‑plated hands and indices filled with Super‑LumiNova® for clarity in low light.
Beating as the heart of this sleek timepiece is the Caliber 47110, an automatic movement developed in-house at IWC Schaffhausen. Operating at a rate of 28,800vph, the movement provides a reliable 42-hour power reserve and features central hacking seconds alongside a discrete date display.
Unlike some previous iterations, this new release also allows collectors to admire the movement – decorated with circular graining, Geneva stripes and a gold-plated oscillating mass – through a sapphire crystal exhibition caseback. Priced at $11,200 USD, the Ingenieur Automatic 35 in Pool Blue is now available to order through IWC’s online and physical boutiques.
