Stone Island Announces the Re-Edition of Its 'Storia: Updated' Book
Tracing the “Lab/Life” philosophy of the brand.
Stone Island is a fashion powerhouse. Launched in 1982 by Massimo Osti, the brand became popular in the 1980s and 90s in Europe and Japan. During the 2010s in the U.S. and Canada, the fashion house reached a new level of stardom thanks to its trademark reflective fabric, dyeing compounds, and surface treatments that are still to this day, used in its garments. Stone Island is now a global culture powerhouse, offering new and innovative clothing options while collaborating with some of the biggest brands and personalities on the planet. Stone Island’s latest installment for its following comes in the form of a re-edition of its acclaimed book, Storia: Updated — and it tells the definitive story of Stone Island.
The book is a full-color monograph published by Rizzoli New York and traces the “Lab/Life” philosophy of the brand while also bringing together how its acclaimed styles are created and worn. Additionally, the new chapter, titled “Community,” focuses on the tribes that wear Stone Island and the brand’s overall impact on global culture.
Commenting on the book’s release in the official press release, Robert Triefus, CEO of Stone Island, said: “Across five decades, Stone Island’s story is always evolving, so we wanted to publish a refreshed version of our book. Storia: Updated captures the heart of Stone Island, from design conception to the people who make the brand part of their lives. The book is for everyone: the serious collector and those about to buy their first Stone Island piece.”
