Nicki Minaj has taken to her social media platform to announce the official release date of the upcoming deluxe edition to her chart-topping 2023 album Pink Friday 2. The new edition celebrates the one-year anniversary of the album and is slated to arrive next week under the title Pink Friday 2 – The Hiatus.

While exciting for her fans, Queen Barb’s announcement also leaves some fans perplexed when she posted to her X account the announcement accompanied by a two GIFs. She wrote, “Pink Friday 2 – The Hiatus. The Final deluxe installment. On the 1 year anniversary of PF2.” She also revealed it’ll be arriving on Friday, December 13.” Back in August, Minaj announced Gag City Reloaded‘s deluxe edition of PF2 and in September, she alerted fans that she had actually scrapped the idea. At the time, she wrote, “Instead of doing a DELUXE to Pink Friday 2, I’ve decided to do a brand new album. I’ll still incorporate new songs like #Mamita & [The ‘anxiety’ song] for the remainder of the tour tho…and I’ll announce the new date within the next couple weeks. Last night, the songs I recorded were just way too iconic. I love you guys so much. You know that. I know you do. I’ll still give you something leading up to the announcement, so no worries.” She also teased the release of Pink Friday 3 but with the announcement of Pink Friday 2 – The Hiatus, fans seem to be confused.

With the Pink Friday 2 – The Hiatus title, fans are speculating that the Queen Barb might be considering taking a hiatus next. One user wrote, “Is this a hiatus or album announcement? Or both?” For now fans will just have to wait until December 13, 2024 for the new deluxe edition to drop.
