KAWS Reunites With the Brooklyn Nets For Nike NBA City Edition Uniform
The 24-2025 uniform boasts “Brooklyn” across the chest and the features artist’s signature XX motif on the waistband.
The Brooklyn Nets have unveiled its official 2024-25 Nike NBA City Edition Uniform designed in collaboration with world-renowned Brooklyn-based artist KAWS. For the second collaboration between KAWS and the Brooklyn team, “Nets” is replaced by “Brooklyn” at the front of the jersey, shifting emphasis towards the wider borough they represent.
Rather than the obvious route of incorporating KAWS’ signature figures, the uniform adopts subtle sensibilities inspired by the artist’s work. The patterned mesh draws its core inspiration from KAWS’ 10-part artwork, “TENSION,” with a greyscale color palette and abstract shapes. Furthermore, KAWS’ signature is found embroidered in white above the jock tag and the artist’s XX motif is placed at the front of the waistband.
In a statement provided by the Nets KAWS said “It was a pleasure to design my second City Edition uniform for the Nets, honoring my local team and community while paying tribute to the borough of Brooklyn.”
The team is set to debut the uniforms on-court at Barclays Center on Sunday, December 1 as they play against Orlando Magic, and will wear the uniforms in a dozen future games this season.
The Brooklyn Nets’ 2024-25 City Edition uniforms are now available online at the Nets’ web store and in person at the Nets’ team store at Barclays Center, Brooklyn Fanatics.
