TAG Heuer Unveils New Chronograph Tourbillon x Porsche Panamericana
Limited to 255 examples.
TAG Heuer and Porsche have joined forces once again to launch the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon x Porsche Panamericana. This exclusive timepiece, limited to 255 pieces, celebrates the legacy of both brands and their shared history with the iconic Carrera Panamericana race.
The Carrera Panamericana, a grueling rally spanning over 3,000 kilometers across Mexico, holds a special place in motorsport history. Porsche’s participation in the 1954 race, where the Porsche 550 Spyder achieved notable victories, inspired the design of this new watch. The TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon x Porsche Panamericana pays homage to this legacy with design elements that echo the 550 Spyder’s features.
Notably, the watch features a 42mm stainless steel case with a fine-brushed and polished finish, highlighted by an engraved “Spyder” logo on the side. Its skeleton dial, reminiscent of the Porsche 550 Spyder’s wheels, showcases a color scheme of silver, yellow and black. The grained effect on the dial adds a touch of racing authenticity, symbolizing the texture of asphalt.
At the heart of this timepiece is the in-house TH20-09 tourbillon movement, offering a 65-hour power reserve. A unique feature is the Porsche steering wheel mass, visible through the sapphire caseback, emphasizing the watch’s automotive inspiration. The design is completed with a black perforated calfskin leather strap, enhanced with yellow stitching and a sporty aesthetic.
Priced at 35,000 CHF, this limited-edition watch will be available sometime in October 2024 via TAG’s official site and authorized dealers. Each piece is individually numbered, highlighting its exclusivity and connection to the legendary Carrera Panamericana race.
