The Studded Wales Bonner x adidas Sambas Are Limited to 750 Pairs
Arriving in black and off-white uppers, the two pairs have been officially revealed.
Update: Out of nowhere, Wales Bonner and adidas surprised fans of their ongoing Samba series by dropping two studded looks that are limited to 750 numbered pairs. Previously, we caught a first look at the black iteration, but an “Ivory” colorway also made an appearance with gold studs. The release touched down on Wales Bonner’s website at a price of $332 USD and sold out swiftly. However, it also appeared via select adidas regional sites, pointing to additional pairs possibly arriving soon for those who missed out. Original Story: After years of working together, Wales Bonner is now one of adidas’ key partners, in great part due to the duo’s work on the ever-popular Samba silhouette. Last year’s batch of six led to the pairing winning the Hypebeast100 2023 award for best sneaker collaboration and heading into the new year, it was revealed that a python-covered sample has been assembled with two additional pairs surfacing last week.
Now, a new iteration of the Wales Bonner x adidas Samba series has appeared, and this one might be the hardest pair to get your hands on yet. In a brief preview of the shoe, it is presented in an all-black build that utilizes leather throughout its upper. Per usual, the extended, foldable tongue is present with white contrast stitching that also appears around the heel tab. While co-branding is visible when folded, the other side notably includes a new “1/750” hit in gold that indicates this release is limited to 750 pairs that may be individually numbered. Matching this, the Three Stripes feature golden studs throughout to complete the design.
