Tyler, the Creator has been named 2023’s best-selling rapper on vinyl.

According to reportsthe artist sold a total of 552,000 records in the United States — not only making him the best-selling rapper of the year, but also 2023’s best-selling male artist and third best-selling artist overall. “thanks to you all who helps in keeping physical media alive!” he tweeted in gratitude.

Other hip-hop artists joining him in last year’s top 10 are Travis Scott at No. 4 with 474,000 albums, Kendrick Lamar at No. 6 with 382,000 albums and the late Mac Miller at No. 10 with 354,000 albums.

Leading last year’s vinyl sales are Taylor Swift, who retains her No. 1 spot for the third year in a row with 3.484 million albums, followed by Lana Del Rey at No. 2 with 646,000 copies. Making up the rest of the top 10 are Olivia Rodrigo at No. 5 with 408,000, Metallica at No. 7 with 378,000, The Beatles at No. 8 373,000 and Fleetwood Mac at No. 9 with 357,000.

A total of 49.61 million vinyl records were sold in the US in 2023, rising 14.2% from 2022’s 43.46 million copies. One in every 25 vinyl albums sold was Swift’s.
