*SCAPE’s comma Creative Arts Festival Returns to Singapore This Month
Celebrating youth artistry and a community spirit.
Back in December 2022, *SCAPE inaugurated comma, a creative arts festival that aimed to celebrate youth culture through its series of music, dance, visual arts, and interdisciplinary arts programs. Now making a comeback for the new year, comma continues to celebrate emerging artists and talents in Singapore throughout a 16-day festival.
With a focus on “Disruption” as a theme, this year’s comma festival invites and challenges its participating young talents to break barriers, defy norms all the while encouraging the audience to bear witness to *SCAPE’s reflective and transformative states.
Regarding this year’s festival, Ivy Lim, *SCAPE’s Executive Director notes that the festival is intended to showcase the creative scene at *SCAPE through its young talents and their pursuits. “We are impressed by the creative energies of the young people who have journeyed with us at *SCAPE,” says Lim. Noteworthy events include the HOMEGROUND dance showcase on January 27, and Jamela Law’s visual arts exhibition, Scars, Skins and Styles: Phygital Transfigurations.
From January 12 – 28, comma will take place at the Somerset Belt, a lively and vibrant youth precinct that’s perfect for hosting the festival. More information on ticketing, as well as the event’s complete schedule can be found on comma’s official webpage.
