Masayuki Ino‘s Doublet has built a cult following through whimsical designs that play on daily life events. From napping to practicing yoga, Doublet’s Fall/Winter 2024 collection brought a humorous wind to Paris Fashion Week. As one of the final brands on schedule, Doublet closed things off with a subtle giggle that livened the occasion.

Doublet shut down Paris’ historic Galerie Brugier-Rigail art gallery with authentic reflections of raw human emotions. The Japanese label welcomed guests with original street food while gifting savory condiments to all. Ino left a poetic letter on every seat, detailing his experience with hurtful sentiments.

Doublet’s FW24 “THE CURE” collection entered the dark side with an unexpected somber start, replacing its usual vibrant tones with a sinister approach. Models donned whitened eyes awakened from the dead, with discolored veins jumping from their pale skin. A single wool suit kicked off the runway with uneven lining, backdropped by thumping tones with eerie female screams. Annotated leather trousers, doubled hoodies, and blood-splattered denim followed with abnormality, while shredded knitwear featured integrated monster masks inside and out.

The collection’s ghostly energy quickly mellowed out, bringing a relaxed policy to in-flight essentials. Models slowly walked the runway in comfortable neck pillows ready for flight, accompanied by “HEAL TECH” tees with pounding hearts. Branded bathrobes and elongated outerwear oozed with soothing energy, seeing the latter don playful “NAP” messaging. Doublet’s spirited identity reigned supreme in the handbag department, with models carrying squished “Power Protein” bags and loaded sandwich containers.

While the show was closed by a blooming flower duo, Doublet subtly revealed an ASICS collaboration on the runway with beige constructions and asymmetrical contrasting underlays.
