Chopard Presents Its 12th L.U.C XP Urushi Limited Edition
Completing the Chinese zodiac with the Year of the Dragon.
Joining in on the advance Lunar New Year celebrations, Chopard presents its latest L.U.C XP Urushi reference starring the Chinese zodiac of the year: the dragon.
The L.U.C XP Urushi series first made its debut back in 2013 with a Year of the Snake edition. With the latest unveiling, the series is now complete with all 12 zodiac signs, all of which are adorned with traditional Japanese Maki-e lacquerwork. All examples of this new timepiece showcase a highly detailed dragon motif that takes a minimum of 20 hours to hand-finish by master artisan, Minori Koizumi. To ensure an unobstructed view of the stunning decorative design on the dial, only a set of gilded Dauphine hands and a subtle Chopard logo are incorporated on the watch face.
Boasting a slim profile and elegant proportions, the watch measures a mere 6.8mm in thickness with a case diameter that’s just short of 40mm. Constructed from 18-carat ethical rose gold, the in-house L.U.C 96.17 movement offers a 65-hour power reserve and is viewable through an open caseback.
Revealed as a limited edition of 88 pieces, the L.U.C XP Urushi Year of the Dragon timepiece is priced at 26,600 CHF (approximately $31,275 USD). Visit Chopard’s official website for more details.
