Google Shares Quick Look at Its Forthcoming Pixel 8 Smartphone
An official launch on October 4 will reveal more details.
With the Pixel 7, Google prioritized a more advanced camera and a long-lasting battery life, both of which gave it an edge in the marketplace. Exactly a year after the release of that device, Google will be putting out its next iteration in its Pixel smartphone lineup.
The company has offered its first look at the Pixel 8. Design-wise, the phone looks pretty similar to the Pixel 7, with the same rectangular shape and metal band holding the cameras and flashlight. On the back side of the phone is a subtle “G” logo.
Google didn’t share any specs or details for the Pixel 8 in the less than 30-second teaser which merely pans around the phone. It does, however, give viewers a close-up of the camera system and side buttons.
Like the Pixel 7, the Pixel 8 will be available in both a standard version and a Pro edition. The video shows colorways in a cream shade and rose gold. It’s likely Google will provide the same storage options it has in the past with options for 128GB, 256GB and 512GB.
The Google Pixel 8 will receive an official reveal – and simultaneously open for pre-order – on October 4.
In other tech news, Apple will automatically offer iOS apps on the Vision Pro store.
