Following the opening of its summertime café in Saint-Tropez, Louis Vuitton continues to expand its modern concept blueprint to Italy. The LVMH brand is opening a resort boutique store and its first Italian café in Taormina in Sicily.

The Louis Vuitton Café by Timeo is set to be operated by LVMH-owned Belmond. Taking on the blue hues of the mediterranean, the fashion store concept also provides food, entertainment, technology and more beyond the apparel and accessories merchandise Louis Vuitton stores often have. The café is located on the first floor of the resort-leaning store. The Belmond-owned Grand Hotel Timeo on central Corso Umberto will run the operations of the café.

The café is set to offer all-day services that span from breakfast to lunch and aperitivo. Chef Roberto Toro oversees the menu which offers his own twist on signature Sicilian delicacies. Some of the items expected to be seen on the menu include arancini, also known as fried stuffed rice balls and drinks like the Taormina Spritz. The space is furnished with Fernando and Humberto Campana’s Bulbo armchairs and ceramic tiles to match the blue and white mediterranean color scheme dedicated to the area.

The Toarmina location is amongst one of many resort stores Louis Vuitton has opened to spotlight its The Pool collection. Other locations include the Hamptons, Saint Tropez, France; Bodrum, Turkey, and Mykonos, Greece. The store features ready-to-wear, bags, footwear and accessories from the LV by the Pool collection, as well as a special edition of the signature Neverfull tote bag. Following the color scheme, the collection uses white and blue shades throughout.

In other news, UNESCO has recommended adding Venice to its heritage endangered list.
