Lisa Lë Strange, the downtown Los Angeles streetwear brand founded by multi-hyphenate creative Are Bernard, looks to nurture a “clothing universe where strange things happen.” For Summer 2023, the wild-minded label moves forward with intent, introducing a striking collection defined by themes of impermanence and growth, dubbed “THE BOY AND THE BUTTERFLY.”

At first glance, the line’s “strange jungle” camouflage motif is an instant standout, plastering itself all over hooded outerwear, button-down shirts and spacious trousers. Vivid butterfly illustrations — some covered in teary eyes and others intermingled with skulls — appear on hoodies, long-sleeves and T-shirts, in an effort to showcase the different stages of evolution.

In terms of construction, the collection’s multi-pocketed button-down embraces utilitarianism to a higher degree, with two front pockets and four back pockets emblazoned across its face; and the oversized cargo pants similarly prioritize functionality, with boxy side pockets and a roomy fit. Down the line, the raglan-cut parka is built to brace the elements, while logo-laden hoodies, zip-up sweaters, long-sleeves and T-shirts fulfill consumers’ casualwear cravings.

Lisa Lë Strange’s Summer 2023 collection is now available to shop on the brand’s webstore and in select retailers. Take a closer look at the range in the gallery above.
