San263-1's SS24 "Spotlight" Collection Highlights the Depth of Darkness
Finding beauty in the center through everything surrounding it.
Founded in 2019, San263-1 is an emerging South Korean label that celebrates a particular sand dune in the nation. The name of the brand itself is the address of the dune in appreciation of the place in Korea’s history and culture. San263-1’s foundation aims to mark the preciousness and beauty of history, culture, and objects. Placing reverence for those elements through natural dyeing, process washing, and handmade embroidery to create meaningful expressions of fashion.
Titled “Spotlight,” San263-1’s Spring/Summer 2024 collection is defined by the center of the spotlight and the depth of darkness around it. The highlight of beauty and everything surrounding it is expressed through a mix of waxed cotton, linen, and sheepskin. Accents come in the form of embroidery details using non-splashing thread colors and bold black taping. Despite the clashing elements, the collection comes together cohesively in an exercise of subtle detailing and sensibility.
