Stormzy Enlists Fredo for Drill-Tinged Rap Smash "Toxic Trait"
Stormzy’s first single since the release of his last album, ‘This Is What I Mean.’
British rap star Stormzy is back with his first original track of 2023, following the release of his third studio album This Is What I Mean, which came out at the back end of 2022. The last project was packed with R&B, soul, and gospel influence, however, Big Mike has now enlisted fellow UK rapper Fredo to make his mark on the drill scene, in the duo’s brand-new record titled “Toxic Trait.”
The record has also been produced by further UK rap royalty, Dave, with the Streatham-raised musician laying the foundations for Stormzy and Fredo to flex about their expensive timepieces, exclusive footwear, and generally being the front-runners in British rap.
Additionally, the accompanying visuals match the same energy of the audio, too: Stormzy is surrounded by a group of women, while Fred takes his rhymes to a therapy session, where he’s joined by This Morning presenter, Alison Hammond.
Other British musicians and personalities are included in the visuals, too. The likes of Specz Gonzales, Wretch 32, and Ivorian Doll are all captured, as the short movie transitions from an intimate counseling session to a piece of artwork, hung on a wall.
