Update: Following Nike’s teaser of a new collaboration with Fortnite, the duo has officially launched its “Airphoria” project. This first-of-its-kind work taps into both the physical and digital world, offering experiences and collectibles in each. First, a new Airphoria Island has been added to Fortnite, capturing the essence of Air Max within an explorable city. This space features five “Air Max Grails” — the Air Max 1, Air Max 97, Air Max TW, Air Max Scorpion and Air Max Pulse — that can be collected to earn an in-game reward: the Air Max 1 ‘86 Back Bling. In addition to this, the game has two new outfits for sale — Airie and Maxxed Out Max. These characters are built with familiar elements from the Air Max line and are joined by thematic pickaxes, a glider, emote, loading screen and more.

Elsewhere, Nike has launched a limited “Airphoria” collection that features tees celebrating the unprecedented collaboration. Prices range between $35 USD to $40 USD and can be shopped now via Nike. Rounding out the highly-detailed project, players can link Epic Games and Nike accounts to claim an achievement on .SWOOSH, granting first access to the future .SWOOSH Air Max Virtual Collection.

Original Story: Over the years, Nike and Epic Games have developed a close relationship with various projects ranging from bringing Travis Scott’s Air Jordan 6 to Fortnite to creating a special Nike Zoom Freak 4 PE with Giannis Antetokounmpo. Now, the duo looks to be taking things to the next level with a new teaser courtesy of Nike’s social media accounts.

Set against a cloudy backdrop, the 25-second video begins with the Fortnite and Nike Air Max logos appearing together. Following this, an “Airphoria” logo is pumped with air and transitions to a teaser date of June 20. Notably, the Unreal Engine and .SWOOSH logos make an appearance, indicating involvement with both the Fortnite game and Nike’s new Web3 platform. Elsewhere, the caption indicates that the event will be “the ultimate sneakerhunt,” beginning on June 20.

Stay tuned for more information regarding this breaking news as we expect Nike and Epic Games to divulge more details in the coming days.
