Citizen to Release Three New Series 8 Models With GMT Function
Including a limited-edition colorway.
Citizen has revealed it will be introducing three new Series 8 800 references this Fall. This is the first time for the series to be bestowed with GMT functions, and the launch will comprise two permanent iterations, as well as a limited-edition version.
The two non-limited editions are presented in a stainless steel build with mirror and brushed finishings. Its specially crafted dial boasts a modern yet geometric take on Tokyo’s skyline during the nighttime, which comes together in a look that is reminiscent of Japan’s traditional check patterns. Available in two colorways, one option features a black dial with a blue and black two-tone bezel, while the other boasts a blue and red bezel around a classic blue dial.
On the other hand, the limited-edition 880 mechanical model is doused in a warm gold hue that references the autumnal sun in Japan. Its bidirectional rotating bezel is also colored in pale pink and maroon to align with the gentle palette. Moving onto the dial, it’s lightly textured and glimmering golden hue brings to mind the scenery of a sunset-doused grass field to complete the mood.
All variants are offered in a 41mm case size with open casebacks. Powering the watches are the automatic and manual winding caliber 0954, which provides an average running time of 50 hours and 10 bar water resistance, on top of the GMT function.
The limited-edition watch will retail at $1,795 USD, meanwhile, the regular editions will be offered at the price of $1,695 USD. Releasing in September, all three models will be available via CITIZEN’s official website.
