Merrell 1TRL has just presented its brand-new “The Trail That Came Before” campaign and it celebrates the pigeon keepers of New York City and the subculture that merges the great outdoors with the hustle and bustle of the inner city.

For those who live in the city, connection with nature can be hard to come by. However, the power of pigeon keeping allows those who live in the most built-up of areas an opportunity to connect with nature. Merrell 1TRL’s latest campaign looks to encapsulate that and it does so by introducing two new silhouettes to its 1TRL line: the Moab Mesa and Eagle Luxe.

Both sneakers come from the brand’s back catalog, with the Moab Mesa standing as a reimagined version of the classic Moab silhouette. The trail shoe has been revitalized with a new waterproof suede, nubuck, and mesh upper, while the use of Vibram technology provides enhanced grip, allowing wearers to navigate the trickiest of terrains with ease.

Meanwhile, the new Eagle Luxe shoe is fitted with waterproof and breathable GORE-TEX fabrications that sit alongside suede and mesh on the upper. The shoe is also offered in a melange of colorways such as “Herb,” “Avocado/Maroon,” and “Incense.”

You can take a look at the new campaign from Merrell 1TRL campaign above and the new shoes are available to shop via the brand’s official website now.
