Tenacious D's New Song is an Ode to Jack Black's Favorite Video Games
If his voicing of Bowser in ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie.’ wasn’t enough.
After bringing Bowser to life in The Super Mario Bros. Movie., Jack Black is back with another ode to video games. This time around, the beloved actor has come together with Kyle Gass, to bring back the rock duo Tenacious D, with their new song, “Video Games.”
Building on Black’s extensive gaming on his JablinskiGames YouTube channel, Tenacious D shared an extensive musical tribute to an array of video games. The animated music video that goes with the song starts with “I don’t play video games no more, I never play video games” before sharing the magic of the experience of gaming. Throughout the music video, Jack Black’s cartoon self is placed into the worlds of Sonic the Hedgehog, Red Dead Redemption, Street Fighter, Super Mario Bros., God of War, Fallout 4, Tomb Raider, and much more.
