ISO.POETISM by Tobias Birk Nielsen Tells a Story of Complexity for SS23
Using artificial intelligence programs as the collection’s creative foundation.

Following his return to Copenhagen Fashion Week, Danish imprint ISO.POETISM by Tobias Birk Nielsen has officially revealed its new Spring/Summer 2023 lookbook.
Dubbed “IMPOSTRIAL MONOLITHS,” the collection continues to explore Nielsen’s connection with the great outdoors while embracing Mother Nature’s sustainable elements. In addition, the designer’s twelfth collection examines the complex artistic relationship. Reflecting on his own process, Nielsen surveys imposter syndrome while dissecting his journey through fashion and sculpting as he searches for perfection in a flawed industry.
For SS23, ISO.POETISM by Tobias Birk Nielsen delivers a tech-forward collection that welcomes modern AI advances. Nielsen’s design team delved into his archive, inserting over 500 looks into AI programs that produced hundreds of abstract images fundamental for SS23.
Distorted “IMPOTRIAL TRAUMA” text lays atop conceptual graphics and imposter syndrome definitions, blasted onto basic T-shirts and overdyed field jackets. Rock-like patterns reflect the designer’s fascination with natural substances, mirrored onto kilt co-ords with knitted vests and buckle belts. Lightweight windbreakers sport 3M tapping throughout, while technical jackets and shorts receive a moss-like treatment. Finally, eerie tie-dye designs are cemented onto branded hoodies alongside practical uniforms with faint finishes.
