Herschel Supply Co.’s Heritage Hardshell Luggage Was Built Tough for a Lifetime of Travel

Herschel Supply Co. introduces a new range of minimalist travel gear with its Herschel Heritage™ Hardshell Luggage. The new line is meant to find the perfect balance between refinement and ruggedness, ideal for frequent travelers who need a travel bag that’s streamlined in design and can last a lifetime.

The Heritage Hardshell range consists of carry-on and standard luggage available in medium and large sizes, and offered in black, pink, gray, blue and yellow. Each bag is crafted with 100% polycarbonate Ecosystem hardshell that is made up of 70% recycled road barricade material. The entire range passed rigorous performance tests to ensure impact strength and the ability to take on any hard tumbles – luggage were dropped from 1.28ft and placed inside a rotating barrel with 30 to 55 lbs of weight to simulate a variety of bumps and bounces. Additional strength tests included a trolley handle jerk test where it was lifted and dropped at different heights, a trolley handle cycle test that extended and closed the top handle 3000 times and a freeze/impact test where the luggage was placed inside a -18°C industrial freezer.

Herschel’s Heritage™ Hardshell Luggage also feature silent Hinomoto wheels that spin 360 degrees, giving each bag freedom of mobility through tough terrain. The wheels also went through a mileage test where they were placed on a bumpy treadmill for 12.43 miles. Other bag details include a TSA-approved combination locks for extra security and interior split storage fitted with a compression buckle and a mesh compartment for smaller items.
