Following the release of the Nike Air Bakin collaboration, Supreme is now gearing up to offer its latest team-up with The North Face. The next installment in the New York imprint’s major collaboration series for the season comes in the form of an expansive range with the outdoors specialist and frequent collaborator centered around a trick eye effect.

The Supreme x The North Face Spring 2023 collaboration is led by the trompe l’oeil printed Taped Seam Shell Jacket, Nuptse Jacket, Mountain Pant, Montana Mitt, and Borealis Backpack. Trompe l’oeil was originated by French painter Louis-Léopold Boilly, who used the phrase as the title of a painting exhibited in the Paris Salon of 1800. The artistic term refers to a highly realistic optical illusion in painting. Techniques are used to express three-dimensional spaces and objects on a two-dimensional plane to show in a realistic manner.

Accompanying the trompe l’oeil printed styles is a series of street-leaning essentials like a Hooded Sweatshirt, Sweatpant, Fleece Pullover, Fleece Short, T-Shirt, and Fleece Beanie. The entirety of the collaboration is marked by co-branding, placing the Supreme Box Logo under TNF’s stylized drawing of Half Dome, in Yosemite National Park.

The Printed Taped Seam Shell Jacket and Mountain Pant are constructed with a water-resistant recycled poly shell and taped seams, expressing a striking trompe l’oeil print. While the Printed Nuptse Jacket features water-resistant, breathable poly ripstop with the same printed graphic and 700-Fill down insulated interior quilted baffles. Other notables include the warm fleece and embroidered logo marked High Pile Fleece Pullover, Short, and Beanie, along with the rushed back fleece Convertible Hooded Sweatshirt and Sweatpant with zip-off sleeves and legs.

The Supreme x The North Face Spring 2023 collaboration will see a global release, via the streetwear imprint March 9, 11 a.m. EDT in the United States and March 18, 11 a.m. JST in Japan.
