Brain Dead and Oakley Factory Team Debut First Eyewear Collaboration
Introducing two new styles.
After successfully breathing new life into the Flesh and Chop Saw footwear silhouettes, the Oakley Factory Team joins Brain Dead once again for four exclusive sunglasses in two distinct “Radar EV Path” and “Radar EV Plazma” molds. Styling and helping shape the otherwordly look of the shades is legendary freeskier Sean Pettit.
The sunglasses are found in rich tones of “Green with Prizm Sapphire” and “Orange with Prizm Violet” inspired by the results of combining elements and pressure from a foregone craft. Through experimentation, the team was able to recreate the ancient technique of injecting fire-like O-Matter® frame material into the chassis for distinct, vibrant hues. All four sunglasses are equipped with Prizm Lens Technology to heighten details while offering protection.
“Many of Oakley’s designs are just coming into the contemporary due to how futuristic their initial concepts were. So, each pair in our new collection looks like it could’ve fallen from a mothership or broken free from a meteor to hungry humans below,” says Brain Dead founder Kyle Ng.
The Brain Dead x Oakley Factory Team capsule collection will be available on the Oakley and Brain Dead websites and select retailers on March 14 at 10 a.m. PST (1 p.m. ET). More details can be found here.
