After launching his independent magazine SevenSevenSeven last year, designer John Ross has returned to share the 2023 Collection from his label SEVENTH HEAVEN. Ross has expressed that SEVENTH HEAVEN is a continuation of his outlook as a multi-disciplinary creative whose works span across fashion, music, and visual media, functioning more as an “artist project” rather than a traditional clothing brand.

Unveiled through a minimalist lookbook, the 2023 collection follows a seasonless sensibility with offerings set to be released throughout the year. Building on the religious imagery and sentimental themes associated with SEVENTH HEAVEN, the Ready-to-Wear designs from John Ross serve as an evocative expression of spirituality.

Fittingly, aside from references to bands and brands important in pop culture, tributes to Jesus and God are found on items like fur coats, varsity jackets, denim trucker jackets, and knit sweaters. SEVENTH HEAVEN has reconnected with jeweler Alex Moss of Alex Moss New York for hardware in the form of custom silver buttons that embellish a blazer, each button is carefully sewn to create a striking cross motif on the back. Another standout is a collaboration with Japanese punk leather craftsman brand Blackmeans, which resulted in a handcrafted leather jacket covered in pins, studs, and prints.

Check out lookbook for the 2023 Collection from John Ross’ SEVENTH HEAVEN label above and stay tuned for release information.
