For MSCHF‘s latest drop, the unruly American art collective brings the cartoon world to life with a pair of Big Red Boots. Taking inspiration from the footwear of Dora the Explorer’s best friend Boots, the cartoonish footwear features a simple, purposefully detail-less design. The only branding accents can be found on the grooved bottoms displaying subtle MSCHF text.

Composed of a TPU rubber shell and EVA sole units, the boots noticeably bear a heavy resemblance to Astro Boy‘s propulsive boots as seen in the comics. Pictured above is Sarah Snyder styling the pairs on the streets of NYC, showcasing their outrageous proportions.

“If you kick someone in these boots they go BOING!” MSCHF writes. “You never design shoes to be shaped like feet. Big Red Boots are REALLY not shaped like feet, but they are EXTREMELY shaped like boots.”
