Sillage Taps into British Military Staples for Winter '23 Collection
The brand reveals new silhouettes, along with updates to its signature classics.

Oversized silhouettes have become ubiquitous in recent years, but few brands have matched the quality of fabrics and level of tailoring quite like Nicolas Yuthanan Chalmeau’s label, Sillage. The Paris-born, Tokyo-based designer is known for creating small batch collections that are inspired by his French and Thai heritage, but crafted by master artisans in Japan.
To combat the ongoing winter, Sillage has released updated takes on the brand’s signature staples. Yuthanan (as he commonly goes by) trades lighter fabrics to re-present the Hakama and Cicular pants in supple herringbone cashmere tweed. Additional highlights include the latest iteration of the Blouson, now available in an indigo three dimension jacuqard print.
The standouts of the collection, however, come in a series of entirely new silhouettes. Starting with the Fireman Coat, Yuthunan took inspiration from the outerwear worn in the British Army to present a melton wool and tweed jacket that has metal hooks to clasp the fronthorn buttons, along with raglan sleeves for a comfy fit. Similar in style, the Duffle Coat is manufactured with horn toggle buttons, raglan sleeves and a wide and long silhouette. Another fresh garment comes in the Boa Quilt Vest, which is made of lightweight high-density taffeta and batting, along with a square quilt pattern lined with acrylic boa pile material on the opposite side.
As for accessories, Yuthanan released his latest muffler in the same reversible fabrics as the Boa Quilt Vest, along with new cashmere caps, bandanas and hand warmers. Shop the full collection online.
