The Pagani Imola Roadster: an Ultra-Limited Street Legal Hypercar
Powered by a formidable twin-turbo AMG V12 that boasts 850hp.
Recently, Pagani unveiled one of its latest creations, the Imola Roadster, a street-legal hypercar that boasts an 850hp producing twin-turbo AMG V12. Limited to just eight units worldwide, the high-performance, open-top marvel is instantly a highly coveted collector’s vehicle.
While it is inspired by the track-only Huayra R, the Imola Roadster is more than just a convertible twin to the 2020 Imola Coupé, instead, it represents a unique blend of the Huayra Roadster BC‘s advanced technology and the Huayra R’s aerodynamic design. According to Lorenzo Kerkoc, Head of Pagani Grandi Complicazioni, this integration results in a vehicle that is “much more advanced and complex.”
At the heart of the Imola Roadster is an enhanced Pagani V12 engine, boasting 850hp at 5,600 rpm and a torque of 1,100 nm, ensuring an exhilarating driving experience. This power is beautifully contained in a car that weighs just over 2,700 lbs, thanks to Pagani’s three-decade expertise in advanced composite materials.
The Roadster’s design and aerodynamics are a tribute to Pagani’s philosophy of blending art and science, with every line and surface meticulously crafted. The vehicle achieves an impressive 1,322 lbs of downforce at 173.98 mph, designed to provide stability and safety under various driving conditions.
Innovations in cooling, including enlarged front air intakes and dual outlets for warm air, further enhance the car’s performance and reliability. The integrated air scoop and rear wing supports on the hood, along with updated tail light designs and new air vents, provide both aerodynamic functionality and add to its visual appeal.
The Imola Roadster’s handling is top-notch, courtesy of its independent double wishbone suspension, made from aluminum alloy and electronically controlled shock absorbers. All of this sits on Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires, offering top-tier grip and performance.
Upon taking a closer look at the Imola Roadster, Pagani’s commitment to customization becomes evident — exemplified through the use of carbo-wood interiors and the Acquarello Light paint system that sheds 11 lbs off the vehicle’s weight, with every aspect tailored to deliver a unique experience.
