Nike has announced two new trail running shoes that’ll be hitting store shelves in 2024, the Nike Zegama 2 and the Nike Pegasus Trail 5.

The Zegama 2 is designed for long-distance trail runners who need a shoe that’ll support them over high-mileage treks, offering cushioning, stability and support. Nike worked on elite trail runners over a two-year period to refine the shoe, lauding it as the most wear-tested of any of its trail sneakers with more than 35,000 total miles (56,000 km) logged globally.

A mesh makes up the upper half of the shoe, accompanied by a Nike ZoomX midsole and a Vibram outsole. The Zegama 2 is also slightly wider than past models to account for the expansion of runners’ feet over the course of their run.

The Pegasus Trail 5, meanwhile, features a unique road-to-trail adaptable design. For the fifth iteration of the sneaker, designers updated the midsole with Nike ReactX, a more environmentally friendly alternative to Nike’s foam.

The outsole features Nike Trail All Terrain Compound (ATC), a rubber blend engineered for durability and grip. Like the Zegama 2, the Pegasus Trail 5 has a breathable mesh upper.

Both the Nike Zegama 2 and the Nike Pegasus Trail 5 launch in May 2024.
