Zenith Reunites with ‘Time+Tide’ for the Defy Skyline Skeleton Night Surfer El Primero
A sequel to their 2021 collaborative timepiece.
Following the unveiling of Zenith’s Aaron Rodgers Edition Chronomaster Sport watch, the Swiss luxury watch brand is back with more collaborative releases.Revealed at Dubai Watch Week, the Defy Skyline Skeleton Night Surfer El Primero also marks Zenith’s second collaborative model with Melbourne-based watch magazine, Time+Tide.
The two parties first linked up back in 2021 for a 100-piece limited-edition Defy Classic Skeleton Night Surfer, which emulated the stunning hues of nighttime on its dial. As for the new collaborative reference, it follows its predecessor’s aesthetic codes with metallic blue accents and a titanium build. However, a few tweaks have been implemented to make this new timepiece even better than the previous one.
A first for the model, the 41mm-sized case along with its dodecagonal bezel and integrated bracelet are crafted entirely in micro-blasted titanium. Highlighted on the openworked dial is Zenith’s large four-pointed star element, now lume-filled and seamlessly imbued into the El Primero’s main plates and bridges. Powering the watch is the in-house El Primero 3620 high-frequency and automatic Manufacture movement that’s characterized by its star-shaped rotor on the caseback. The caliber boasts hourly vibrations of 36,000vph, complete with a power reserve of up to 60 hours. Like many Zenith watches, this limited edition also comes with an additional blue rubber strap.
Priced at $12,800 USD, the Defy Skyline Skeleton Night Surfer El Primero is released as a 200-piece limited-edition and will be available to shop via Zenith and Time+Tide’s online stores.
