Todd Snyder is adding to his collaborative catalog. But this time, the American menswear designer turned away from the typical clothing or footwear brand. Instead, the designer set his sights on fine art by teaming up with The Metropolitan Museum of Art.

With the new collaboration, Snyder was invited by the renowned museum to craft an exclusive set of pieces inspired by The Met’s catalog. Specifically, the effort reimagined artworks by Édouard Manet, Edgar Degas and Vincent Van Gogh. What came out of the new relationship is a 12-piece collection featuring chore coats, puffer jacket, sweaters, sweatshirts and scarves.

“To be able to work with The Met is a huge honor. My mother was an artist and an art teacher and I can remember going to the Museum when I was taking art history classes at the Fashion Institute of Technology,” said Snyder. “Instead of studying paintings in a textbook, it was so special to be able to see these masterpieces in person.”

To bring the pieces to life, Snyder looked to pieces like Van Gogh’s Self-Portrait with a Straw Hat (1887), Van Gogh’s Irises (1890), Van Gogh’s Olive Trees (1889), Van Gogh’s Wheat Field with Cypresses (1889) Degas’s View of Saint-Valéry-sur-Somme (1896–98) and more.

Take a look at the offering in the gallery above. The new Todd Snyder x The Met collaboration in available now in select Todd Snyder stores, on the brand’s website and at The Met’s Fifth Avenue store.
