Toronto-based outerwear brand Canada Goose has reunited with BAPE to celebrate its 30th Anniversary. The Canada Goose x BAPE outerwear marries the legacies of each brand’s global footprint across the lifestyle and fashion spaces. Canada Goose’s brand ethos “Live in the Open” is an invitation to connect with the outdoors and embrace the unexpected; BAPE’s classic prints mirror this sentiment, championing bold and charismatic self-expression. The winter-ready collection introduces Canada Goose’s signature Crofton Puffer and Freestyle Vest in muted colorways featuring BAPE’s all-pervasive ABC CAMO print.
Tapping into counterculture ATV and motocross communities home to New York City, the campaign finds a unique intersection between BAPE’s Japanese streetwear aesthetic and the outdoor utility widely attributed to Canada Goose’s parkas and technical outerwear. In the lookbook imagery, Harlem-bred rap artist A$AP TyY of the A$AP MOB and model Tre’Nae Bynum pop wheelies and storm the streets of Randall’s and Roosevelt Island in Manhattan while wearing the ABC CAMO-adorned Crofton Puffer and Freestyle Vest. Paired back to transitional seasonal styles — oversized cargo pants, carpenter skirts, designer hoodies and cold-weather accessories, like technical gloves — these core outerwear pieces showcase versatile wearability as you shift into the colder months.
BAPE (A Bathing Ape), founded in 1993, significantly defined street fashion of the early ’90s and ’00s. The signature APE HEAD and ABC CAMO motifs are cornerstones of the brand’s identity — the latter being a distorted camouflage pattern released in 1996 — co-signed by music’s finest, from Pharrell Williams to Pusha T. Likewise, Canada Goose’s Crofton Puffer is just one of its many heritage silhouettes channeling lifestyle ubiquity, a seasonal staple appearing in the average jacket rotation just as habitually as the leaves change color. A ripstop construction, a water-repellent shell, a down-filled adjustable hood and streamlined articulated sleeves defy the sometimes bulky, cumbersome cuts of commercial winter wear. The puffer arrives in BAPE’s timeless Giant ABC Snow CAMO colorway — a monochromatic gray-and-white color scheme — and Giant ABC CAMO — an earthy combination of green and brown.
The Freestyle Vest makes its rounds as an all-season essential; its close-to-body fit elevates layered ensembles, as depicted in the lookbook imagery. Available in statement-making colorways Snow and Classic CAMO, the two-piece collection is a striking balance between performance luxury and subversive street style. Reimagined with BAPE’s signature ABC CAMO, the unisex styles are ideal travel companions, offering all-around cold weather protection for the chilly months ahead.
The collection also unveils limited-edition 1000%, 400% and 100% Medicom Be@rbrick collectible figurines donning the ABC CAMO Crofton Puffer. Set to launch Spring 2024, the collectibles celebrate BAPE’s 30th Anniversary, following the brand’s “by R” showcase in Tokyo, Japan.
