Dr. Martens has teamed up with Alpha Industries to launch a collection that pays homage to their workwear roots. Both brands, which rose to popularity in the 1960s, have long been embraced by various subcultures, transitioning from factory floors and flight decks to festivals and city streets.

The Dr. Martens x Alpha Industries collaboration revisits the original designs that set each brand apart — notably, the Alpha Industries’ MA-1 flight jacket, initially issued to the US Air Force and recognized for its bright lining and functional pockets; the jacket shares the spotlight with Dr. Martens’ iconic footwear. The collection underscores a shared ethos of authenticity and resilience, characteristics that have defined both brands through the decades.

The new range includes the Tarik boot, reimagined with Smooth leather and Nylon and a unique sleeve pocket mirroring the MA-1’s utility focus. It features contrasting red and black laces, a nod to the jacket’s vibrant lining and a removable Alpha Industries pull tab. True to Dr. Martens’ signature style, the boot also boasts the brand’s iconic yellow stitching.

Similarly, the 1460 Ben boot receives a contemporary update with the same materials, infusing a modern workwear aesthetic while retaining the distinctive DNA of both Dr. Martens and Alpha Industries.

Beyond footwear, the collaboration extends to accessories with the Alpha Backpack, which merges functionality and style. The backpack is designed with additional pockets, robust Smooth and Kiev leather, Nylon and the characteristic Alpha pull tab, creating a versatile piece for everyday use.

Items in the collaboration are brought to life through a promotional video featuring Lloyd Clipston, drummer for the London-based alternative band Powerplant, who encapsulates the collection’s energetic and rebellious spirit.

The collection is set to drop on November 9, via both brands’ official sites, with retail prices for the items ranging from $180 USD to $220 USD.
