Campbell Addy To Be Honored With the Isabella Blow Award at The Fashion Awards 2023
Presented by the British Fashion Council.
The British Fashion Council will honor Campbell Addy at The Fashion Awards 2023 in December. The British-Ghanaian photographer and director has been selected to receive the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator for his contributions to fashion, photography and culture.
The London-born Central Saint Martins has become known for representing Black and queer perspectives through his work as an image-maker. Addy’s photography and creative direction has appeared across major publications and magazines, including Dazed, i-D, Rolling Stone Magazine, The Wall Street Journal and Vogue. He’s also shown his work in gallery shows throughout the world.
In addition to his photography, Addy is the founder of Nii Journal, a publication dedicated to platforming emerging Black photographers that he launched in 2016. He also created Nii Agency, a modeling agency committed to signing diverse talent.
“Addy is a world leading visionary who wholeheartedly dedicates himself to championing and spotlighting those from under-represented and marginalized backgrounds,” BFC Chief Executive Caroline Rush said “Through his progressive and fearless work, Addy has reshaped the perceptions of beauty and style in the industry and brought diversity and inclusion to the forefront.”

I believe it’s imperative that our industry is forever changing and forever moving, and awarding someone like myself is a symbol of a bright future for the fashion industry,” Addy continued. “I wouldn’t be here without my wonderful community and numerous incredible collaborators. Thank you to all those I’ve had the pleasure of working with over the years. I’ve strived to create work that allows people to be seen, work that celebrates the true beauty of diversity, and I hope to be able to continue to change minds and create new worlds.”
The Fashion Awards 2023 will take place on Monday, December 4, presented by Pandora. The event acts as the primary fundraiser for the BFC Foundation.
