Kevin Durant Celebrates His Mother Wanda With This Nike KD 16
An homage to “The Real MVP.”
Kevin Durant and Devin Booker are a dynamic duo for not just the Phoenix Suns, but Nike Basketball as well. With the 2023-24 NBA season about to begin, the two are expected to wear their respective signature shoes with the Swoosh throughout the year and are serious contenders for a championship. For Durant, his Nike KD 16 serves as the latest design from the star and it has now surfaced in a new colorway that is an homage to “The Real MVP” — his mother.
While a complete breakdown of the shoe’s references has not yet been disclosed, there are several key details spotted in its initial unveiling. The shoe boasts a jade green look that complements the jewelry-themed graphics spotted at the tongue and lining. As for the tongue branding, the left shoe sees the typical “KD” logo with a “W” in place of the “K,” a nod to Wanda Durant. Bits of silver also join in at the piping, Swooshes, sockliner logo and “EASY” heel badge while a semi-translucent green sole unit completes the pair.
At the time of writing, the Nike Basketball team has not announced any release details surrounding the Nike KD 16 “Wanda.” Stick around for updates as we’re likely to see it hit shelves via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at some point during the upcoming NBA season.
