Netflix Unveils Release Date of Final Season of 'The Crown'
Season six will be split into two parts.
Netflix has released the official trailer and release date of The Crown‘s sixth and final season.
Split into two parts, Part 1 will premiere on November 16 followed by Part 2 on December 14, with the entire season covering the events that took place from 1997 until 2005. Part 1 is comprised of four episodes and will “depict a relationship blossoming between Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed before a fateful car journey has devastating consequences.” Elizabeth Debicki, Dominic West, Salim Daw and Khalid Abdalla will return as Princess Diana, Prince Charles, Mohamed Al Fayed and Dodi Fayed, respectively, while Imelda Staunton will continue as Queen Elizabeth II with Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip and Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret. Rufus Kampa and Fflyn Edwards will also make their debuts as Prince William and Prince Harry.
Meanwhile, Part 2 will be told across six episodes: “Prince William tries to integrate back into life at Eton in the wake of his mother’s death as the monarchy has to ride the wave of public opinion. As she reaches her Golden Jubilee, the Queen reflects on the future of the monarchy with the marriage of Charles and Camilla and the beginnings of a new Royal fairytale in William and Kate.” Joining the cast are Ed McVey and Luther Ford as Prince William and Prince Harry, along with Meg Bellamy as Kate Middleton.
