Chad Stahelski Has Ideas for Nine 'John Wick' Films
Adding that franchise star Keanu Reeves would return “if we had a good story.”
Chad Stahelski revealed that he has ideas for up to nine films in the John Wick franchise.
Speaking to Inverse, the filmmaker confirmed that he and star Keanu Reeves “have ideas for days” and that the studio would be very open to the idea of creating a fifth film. Stahelski shared, “I have notebooks and notebooks of shit behind me, John Wicks 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. We have ideas for days. We just don’t have the story locked.” He continued, “I have no interest in doing the cash grab of bringing John Wick back for something. Is he a character I like? Of course. And if I did a couple of John Wick movies, great. Keanu would do one again in a second if we had a good story. We leave that open-ended. I know that the studio would love us to say we have another one.”
It remains to be seen when John Wick 5 will hit theaters, however the universe is far from inactive. Peacock recently premiered the spinoff series The Continental, while a game is currently in development.
