BAPE has tapped a playful collaborator to deliver a fresh take on a blast from the past. Joining forces with Bandai‘s timeless Tamagotchi toy, BAPE has curated a retro-inspired capsule of co-branded products that exemplify the indelible fusion of gaming and streetwear.

The collab features a lineup of digital mobile games as well as a run of apparel, including hoodies and tees. Tamagotchis are available in three colors – green, blue, and pink – and tap into the design of 1996’s “first generation Tamagotchi,” featuring “Mamecchi” and “Oyajicchi” icons. The mobile game still infuses BAPE’s style ethos throughout the silhouette, seeing its signature camouflage pattern along the custom shell and LCD screen. Each Tamagotchi comes equipped with a neck strap and retails for ¥6,600 yen.

BAPE has also curated a corresponding apparel offering to coincide with the digital toy’s release. Hoodies and t-shirts lean heavily into co-branding, melding BAPE and Tamagotchi’s typography and logos. Take a closer look at the clothing in the gallery below.

Expect the BAPE x Tamagotchi release to go live for purchase this Saturday, October 14 at authorized BAPE retail stores and online. The capsule will go live on Bandai’s website the following day, October 15.
