Vuarnet Digs Into Alpine Duality With FW23 Collection
Marking Boramy Viguier’s third collection for the brand.
When Boramy Viguier joined Vuarnet as its creative director in 2021, it was a sign that the French brand was headed in a new direction. Needless to say, the path outlined for Viguier has been unequivocally forward-facing while also retaining the brand’s French mountaineering roots. The brand’s latest for the Fall/Winter 2023 season continues to chip away at this mission by digging into the duality of contemporary alpine styles and heritage-focused designs.
Marking Viguier’s third collection for the label, the offering focuses on updating the most crucial elements of weather-ready attire with a modern ethos. Comprising the collection is a selection of puffer coats, parkas, shell jackets, bodysuits, ski suits and knitwear. Functional yet clean, what makes the garments stand out is the usage of varying textiles like nylon, spandex, wool and wool cotton blends. As such, even though the pieces live in shades of midnight blue, black, merlot and more, their attention to performance-ready functionality is what makes them shine.
Knitwear pieces like thick crewneck sweaters in shades of mountain blue and brick are complete with eye-catching graphic designs – offering fun elements to the collection’s minimally streamlined cadence. Finishing off the collection are accessories like sunglasses, snow goggles, balaclavas, neck warmers, hats and gloves.
