Louise Trotter Exits Lacoste
Showing her final collection to a small crowd in Paris last year, which will form part of Lacoste’s Spring 2023 range.
After four years as creative director of French sportswear brand Lacoste, Louise Trotter has left her role at the company.
Trotter joined the Lacoste team in 2018 and produced her first runway show with the brand the following year, shown at Paris Fashion Week. In her role, she was tasked with handling the brand’s yearly runway presentations and both menswear and womenswear collections. Trotter brought a fresh perspective to Lacoste, shifting her gears to target casual womenswear consistently.
Trotter’s final collection with the brand was showcased to a private crowd in Paris in 2022, which will be sold to the general public later this year as part of Lacoste’s Spring 2023 range.
Taking to Instagram to share the news, Louise Trotter wrote:
It’s time to say goodbye!
To all those who have supported me on this brilliant journey: the team at Troyes; Lacoste Archive; Lacoste teams; my collaborators; friends, and loyal fans of the house I send my heartfelt thanks.
I leave with the deepest gratitude to my creative team, for without you, there would be no me. The studio became our creative home, and your passion and inspiration allowed us to dream ‘big dreams’. I hope you continue to flourish.
Finally, I feel the most honored to have served the legacy of René Lacoste, whose sporting values I will carry with me.
Without style, playing and winning is not enough.
It will be interesting to see who Lacoste chooses to appoint as its next creative director. Stay tuned for more information to come soon.
