In conversation with UpNextDesigner’s Albert Ayal on Instagram Live on Tuesday evening, designer Colm Dillane revealed that his KidSuper Fall/Winter 2023 runway will include a full-blown comedy show.

Ahead of his debut as Louis Vuitton’s first-ever guest designer on Thursday, the designer briefly shifted the conversation to his own KidSuper show, which is scheduled to take place during Paris Fashion Week on January 21 at 9 p.m. CT, just two days after the Louis Vuitton runway. “It is a comedy show,” Dillane told Ayal of what to expect from his independent label. “So all the models are comedians. They come out, they do a joke and they go back out.”

Without giving too much away, Dillane disclosed that a majority of the cast will be English-speaking, aside from one French comedian. “We’ve got some amazing comedians,” he said. “And they are all really weirdly shaped. It’s hurting my fabrics, but we got over that,” he joked.

“The comments are going crazy about Andrew Schulz, and they’re not wrong,” he added, confirming that Schulz will appear in the comedy-special fashion show. He later confirmed that several commenters’ big-name guesses were also correct, though he did not explicitly state which comedians he was referencing in the flood of comments. According to Número Magazine, the show will feature boxer Mike Tyson and American comedians Jeff Ross and Stavros Halkias.

Following the KidSuper show, Dillane will have achieved a massive fashion feat: two shows during one Paris Fashion Week. While cross-checking his styling selections for KidSuper, Dillane is also putting the final touches on Louis Vuitton’s FW23 collection, as the first designer to helm the brand’s menswear collection post-Virgil Abloh.

It’s important to clarify that Dillane is co-creating the collection; he is not Louis Vuitton Men’s new creative director. In a statement, the brand clarified that the collection was designed by the Louis Vuitton men’s team “with the participation of” Dillane. “In other words, Colm is embedded into the men’s studio,” the house added.

The Louis Vuitton FW23 menswear show will be presented on January 19 in Paris. In the meantime, discover more Paris Fashion Week FW23 content across Hypebeast.
