The Row SS23 Is Wealthy With Androgynous Tailoring
Under the creative jurisdiction of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.

In Paris, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s fashion label The Row revealed a Spring/Summer 2023 collection inside a baroque room behind The Ritz. To the soundtrack of Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game,” an entourage of well-tailored ensembles — some metropolitan-ready and others begging for a beach — articulated the House’s penchant for distilled opulence.
With an instinct for clean, minimal design, the collection delivered a series of boxy blazers in black and off-white colorways; but with subtle tweaks, each archetypically masculine layer was made original — androgynous, even — with black slits, sleeve cuts, voluminous overlays and cinched waists. Jackets complemented sharp shirts, flowing pants, shorts and dresses alike, while a bevy of leather flip-flops reminded onlookers of the collection’s warm-weather readiness.
When day turned to night, the range received sophisticated, evening-appropriate elevations, specifically across neutral-toned pillared dresses, bulkier, fabric-wrapped gowns and dramatic, form-hugging dresses with distinct trains. Most iterations left much to the imagination, though an immaculate, glittering fishnet dress and a similarly-decadent lace crochet gown added a lavish cheekiness to the line.
