Early Look at the Air Jordan 1 "True Blue"

Next year marks the 35th anniversary of the Air Jordan 3, so Jordan Brand is celebrating the iconic silhouette’s milestone anniversary with … an Air Jordan 1. Of course, the Jumpman has grand direct plans set for the AJ 3’s anniversary — it’s one of the most popular and influential Air Jordans of all time, the first Air Jordan designed by Tinker Hatfield and the shoe that saved Michael Jordan’s relationship with Nike — but that doesn’t mean other models in the Air Jordan lineage can’t get some love, so the Air Jordan 1 “True Blue” is a reimagining of one of the AJ 3’s most notable color schemes.

Featuring a white base accented by eponymous “True Blue” detailing and hits of “Cement Grey” to boot, the Air Jordan 1 “True Blue” is faithful to its Air Jordan 3 “True Blue” inspiration save for one key detail: the latter’s elephant print. Missing print aside, it serves up a crisp hybrid look and an interesting material mixture as both the collar flaps and heel are done up in suede instead of the leather that’s usually used in both locations.

Early reports indicate that the Air Jordan 1 “True Blue” is scheduled for a January 2023 release date, but this has yet to be confirmed by Nike or Jordan Brand. When it does release it’ll be available in a full family size run, with men’s pairs priced at $180 USD.
