Los Angeles Lakers continue to make big moves in trades for the upcoming season. Following the news of LeBron James signing on for a two-year extension for $97.1 million USD, the West Coast team has reportedly traded for Patrick Beverley from the Utah Jazz in exchange for Talen Horton-Tucker. Shams Charania from The Athletic has been first to report the trade.

Beverley had a short stay in Utah, having arrived in July as a part of a blockbuster deal for Rudy Gobert to go to the Minnesota Timberwolves. The 34-year-old Chicago native ended the 2021-22 season with the Wolves averaging 9.2 points, 4.6 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 1.2 steals, playing in 58 games. When asked about his trade to the Jazz by KRIV’s Mark Berman he said he was not surprised with the move. He said, “Understood it. Never personal, always business in this business. We did some great things in Minnesota. We kind of revamped the environment there. We kind of gave the fans something to be happy about.”

Beverley is currently on an expiring one-year $13 million USD contract. He is slated to join James and Anthony Davis on the court for the upcoming season.

Elsewhere in sports, Kevin Durant is staying with the Brooklyn Nets.
